THE BUSINESS OF BEADS -- BOOK KEEPING
Sunday, April 12 2009 - 01:31

When forming LinnyGirl Designs, I did a lot of research about how to set up my business properly in the state of California.  There were several forms to fill out and fees to pay.  I even needed a permit from the city I live in to create my jewelry designs at home, but all in all, it was a fairly easy and financially feasible process.

Now that I am up and running, I realize I need to keep an official set of books beyond the simple spreadsheet I have of the sales I’ve

My First Blog Post - 2/16/09
Wednesday, April 08 2009 - 04:19

Welcome to my blog! I will totally confess that I have no idea what I should be writing about right now, as this is my first attempt at blogging, so I am just going to write something and hope I don’t scare anyone away. In all honesty, blogging to me still sounds like something my six year old might do after eating way too much cotton candy, but everyone says that blogging is an important part of promoting your business, especially a new business like mine, so here I am jumping on the

Can't wait to see what

March's birthstone is Aquamarine. The cool blue tones of this semi-precious gemstone remind me of the seashore. Some of my favorite jewelry pieces have aquamarines in them. I swear that I can almost smell the sea spray

SODA POP EARRINGS
Wednesday, April 08 2009 - 04:13
I'm preparing to launch my Green Girl line soon, which will include designs made from recycled and salvaged materials.

Tonight, I was fiddling around, trying to come up with earrings using soda pop tabs that would look cute with jeans or even something a little more dressy.  I added beads made from recycled glass and beads salvaged from a swimsuit manufacturer for a little color and flair.  The earwires are sterling silver.

Here's the end result.  I am pretty
